China, Indonesia, ROK win trade ruling about paper

WASHINGTON, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) on Tuesday ruled out anti-dumping or countervailing duties against coated free sheet paper from China, Indonesia and South Korea.

The commission said a U.S. industry was neither materially injured nor threatened with material injury by imports of coated free sheet paper from the three Asian countries.

The decision was the result of a 5-1 vote, the ITC said in a statement.

In October, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced it would impose penalty tariffs on coated free sheet paper from these countries, which it said were subsidized and sold in the U.S. at prices lower than their fair value.

Coated free sheet paper is used in art books, textbooks, annual reports, prestige magazines and catalogues.
